Greetings! Welcome to my blog!
I hope you are having a great year so far.
Starting a blog is one of my top goals this year. Coming from academia, I never thought that I would begin my career as a fiction writer and blogger. After receiving my B.A. and M.A. in psychology, I began to use those skills to write fiction. I took the necessary steps and delved into writing, particularly fantasy. I enjoy reading stories that take me out of reality.
Seeing more writers of color publishing their own stories motivates me to do the same. We need more Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) authors in the traditional publishing industry!
Writing has its challenges. But the most important lesson is to master the art of storytelling. This is critical to master, especially as a fiction writer.
I started blogging to share my writing experiences and help you achieve success as a writer. I would like you to join me on this journey.

I have several ongoing projects I am working on this year.
I will start querying my picture book in April, and I am excited about it. This will be my first time submitting query letters to agents, so this will be fun!
I am working on 2 other projects: 1 young adult (YA) and the 1 adult novella. I will self-publish my novella by next year.
For the next few months, I will outline my next novel for the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). This happens every year in November. I participated for the first time last year, and I enjoyed it. This year, I will write a middle-grade (MG) novel involving Taíno mythology.
Thank you for taking the time to read my first blog! Please reach out if you have questions or concerns.
Don’t forget to follow me on social media!
Cheers!
